fishing report

Fishing has been outstanding over the last few trips, that is, when you can get out there. The weather has limited our trips, lately, but we have been really doing well, sometimes even being done by 10.30am, ready for another session after 12.00.

There’s not much more to say really, get out there and you’ll catch fish at the moment.

They are not too fussy on the bait flavour, and there’s not much in the way of bycatch.

We are getting plenty of kahawai coming through, and kingfish have been around also.  Just today we ended up bagging four very nice ones up to 13kg.

Mako sharks had been a bit of a problem of late, but none around this week.

We also spotted another marlin last week in only 40 meters of water, so clearly they are still not too far off shore.

Most fishing has been happening around the 40 meter mark off Aotea.

The weather for the weekend is not looking great and for much of next week. Hopefully early May we should have another good spell of weather.

Have a great long weekend

Cheers

Rob
