Just a quick update from out at sea today. There are some good snapper and tarakihi out in the 80 metre zone at the moment. Good pannie snaps are pretty plentiful out in the middle ground about halfway towards Motiti.

Just a quick update from out at sea today. There are some good snapper and tarakihi out in the 80 metre zone at the moment. Good pannie snaps are pretty plentiful out in the middle ground about halfway towards Motiti.

Skipjack are also around from seven kilometres to twelve kms north-east of the harbour entrance, and we all like what hangs around with them.

There are plenty of good snapper and kingies in the harbour channels, and in the entrance.

Also, some great snapper fishing off Matakana Island at the moment, mostly around twelve to eighteen metres on soft baits or stray line rigs.

Water temperature is still reasonably warm at 20.7

Last of the summer gamefish are still out there, and if last year is anything to go by, we should still have good snapper fishing inshore for another couple of months.

Cheers
